The Israeli government has taken apartheid to a new level where every house in the various settlements is a “nest for spies” to monitor Palestinians throughout the day and night, according to a student activist.
He is also a student of architecture, urbanism and political economy at the University of Texas Dallas.
He further mentioned that the manner in which the settlements are being built puts to an end any chance of a two-state solution in the territory.
The homes that are being built by the oppressive regime were in fact fortresses and that each house had a vantage view of the various communities living under Palestine rule.
Presently in South Africa where he is working with the BDS movement, the American-Pakistani told a meeting of the Islamic Forum “every single move by every Palestinian is being watched by Israelis who have been moved into the homes built on occupied territory.
“This is so because they want to keep their surveillance on every Palestinian camp. The houses are built in such a way, that the living rooms enable the residents to look down upon the Palestinian areas.
“The Settlements are also used for military purposes and at times of protest or uprising, troops and tanks emerge from behind these settlements. The surveillance, the separation of roads, walls and even the discharge of sewage by the Israeli government is worse than apartheid,” he said.
He pointed out that the Jewish State has learned a lot from South Africa and has taken these draconian practices to a far higher level.
He also addressed the issue of water availability pointing out that Palestinians were not allowed to drill boreholes and if they did, soldiers would move in and demolish their homes.
More than 70% of the water was for the use of less than 10% of the Israeli residents.
