Journey through the Quran: 14 – 17 April 2017

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

Dear friends and family

The Islamic Forum is pleased to announce that dates for its 2017 Convention have been finalised. It will take place between 14-17 April in Durban North at Varsity College, Soofie Saheb Drive In sha Allah. The convention aims to provide an opportunity for the community, ranging from high school students to senior community members, to come together for a weekend of learning, spiritual upliftment and constructive engagement.

The theme for this year’s convention is: Journey through the Quran.

Ramadan is fast approaching once again! It is the month in which the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (s), so the greatness of this blessed month is inextricably linked to the Holy Book itself. But ask yourself – do you resolve each year that you will attempt to study the Quran? So many of us do, but fail to fulfill our best intentions. Are you aware of the key messages and lessons of each surah? And can you imagine the joy you will feel when you finally begin to understand what is being recited in the tarawih prayers this Ramadan? Let this year’s Journey Through the Quran course transform your Ramadan by teaching you how to engage with the Quran in a way you’ve never done before.

In the short space of just four days you will learn:
99 personal development lessons based on Quranic teachings;
Key messages, themes and stories to assist your long-term learning;
A cohesive summary and overview of all 114 chapters;
The Quran in application: discover how to apply your knowledge practically in your everyday life;
1000 Arabic words from the Quran; and so much more.

Under the tutelage of IIDR’s founder, Shaykh Hasan al-Banna, this course will give you the tools to re-establish your connection with the Holy Book and finally receive all those messages you’ve been missing. Make this your year to achieve something remarkable in the month of Ramadan.
